Fall Fireside

It is the beginning of September and all you Alaskans know what that means: time to begin preparing for another winter. The chill in the air evokes the desire to curl up in front of a crackling fireplace with a warm cup of coffee or cup of hot cocoa and a good book. Leaves are rapidly changing, providing Alaskans with a perfect opportunity to get the family out for some Fall fun. As we watch the termination dust settle on the mountains, we anxiously await our favorite outdoor winter activities. Tire changeover is now underway, warm clothes begin to replace T-shirts and shorts, and school is back in session for students across the region. You begin to prepare your home for the long winter ahead: wrapping pipes, cleaning out your chimney, replacing the filter in the heater, and finishing those long delayed summer projects. While you may think it's too late this season to put your house on the market, we can attest to the fact that now is an excellent time to do so. In fact, statistics show home sales are up over this time last year by 10.4% while inventory is down 31.3% over this time last year. What does this mean? It means there are more people looking to buy than there are homes for sale. This results in a typical scenario of multiple offers on a single home. So if you are enjoying your cup of coffee fireside and considering selling your home, what better time to sell than right now!
